Our Mission
Adding Vibrancy
to the Urban Downtown
A modern downtown entertainment district can increase light and activity, draw residents, tourists, and families downtown, support local art and culture, and provide downtown with a vibrant media-based infrastructure, all at no cost to the citizens.
Our District Guiding Principles

Who we Are
Our Team
For Moke, connection is the key: between the dope people he knows and the relationships he builds among them, he is a true emissary of the arts.
Annie’s talent for translating bold, creative visions into fully-formed and well-executed events makes her an ideal conduit between the artist and client.
A Message From The Founder
Why UAI?
At 39 years old, I left my role as a “recovering” sports and entertainment lawyer to enter the space of urban place-making. The journey began with the Denver Theatre District where I built a team that has spent 10 years creating unique programming spaces in downtown Denver, funded exclusively by outdoor media revenue.
Over the past 10 years I have observed people craving connection in their cities. Even brief connections foster urban community built through shared experiences. When people come together and share an experience, we are all better for it.
In my experience developing the Denver Theatre District and launching the Atlanta Arts and Entertainment District, it has become clear that the unique district model – place-making powered by outdoor media – brings meaningful positive change through urban activation.
Light (via outdoor media) gives people the comfort to gather; once they gather, you can deliver programming; programming begins to create community.
In working with UAI, you will work with people who share this passion to build community and join a national effort to re-shape outdoor media as the mechanism to power that passion.

How We Do It
We Work
For The People
we brighten urban environments through local civic and corporate sponsorship of artistic activations, generating incremental revenue by attracting additional visitors to downtown restaurants, bars, and attractions.
District Structure
Efficiently Managed
districts are able to set up as a 501(c)(3) or an affiliate/subsidiary of a downtown stakeholder. In either case, a district can be governed by public and private sector representatives in the form of a Board of Directors or Advisors.
